Cinematography in games
Cinematography is critical in communicating visual ideas. In story-based games, dialogue scenes between two characters are common in making a compelling story. In dialogue scenes, there are common camera cuts happening that are repeated over the course of the dialogue sequence. Often the cinematographer manually places the camera in these scenes.
What does this Tool do?
This tool called CineCam, procedurally composes camera shots based on a selected cinematographic technique, reducing the need for manual placement and speeding workflow in dialogue sequences. In addition, the tool also allows the user to define their own camera shots that can be used repeatedly throughout the dialogue scene. The tool allows the user to quickly experiment and previsualize different camera patterns to easily find ways to increase the visual interest to a dialogue sequence.
